Two Militants Killed in Kulgam Ambush: Internet Services including 2G/3G/4G blocked in South Kashmir………

Two militants were killed in a brief gunfight with government forces in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district late Wednesday night.

A police officer told us that army’s 9 RR and SOG had laid an ambush at Gopalpora village in DH Pora following a tip off about the movement of some militants in the area.

“As the militants entered the ambushed area, they were challenged after which a fierce gun battle took place between the forces and the militants in which two militants have been killed”, the officer said.

He said that both the bodies have been recovered along with as many AK 47 and their identity are being ascertained.

Meanwhile, in wake of the gunfight, authorities have blocked internet services including 2G/3G/4G in south Kashmir.

Some rumour mongers on social media are updating news regarding shutdown for tomorrow.

Joint leadership of Hurriyat has not issues any such strike call for tommorow  till Now. 

So dont pay any heed to rumours.

Four (4) Colleges, Two (2) Higher Secondary Schools to remain Closed for tommorow (Thursday) in Srinagar………

Srinagar district administration on Wednesday said that the class work will remain suspended in six educational institutions of Srinagar city tomorrow (Thursday).

A senior administrative official said the class work will remain suspended in Amar Singh College, SP college, Gandhi College, Islamia College, SP Higher Secondary School (HSS) and MP HSS tomorrow.

He said that the decision has been taken to prevent law and order problems.

Director General of Jammu and Kashmir Police Sanctions Special Reward For Police Wards Qualifying Competitive Exams………

Director General of Police, Dr. S.P. Vaid today sanctioned special reward for seven wards of serving police personnel who have qualified competitive exams conducted by Board of Professional Examination.

The reward of Rupees Ten thousand each has been sanctioned out of Central Police Welfare Fund to encourage and inspire the school going children of police personnel. Thos who have been awarded are two MBBS, two BPT and three B.Tech qualifiers. They are Yasir Fayaz, Arfat Ahmad Wani, Junaid Ahmad Bhar, Ameet Kour, Mohammad Asim Khan, Farhana Inayat and Wasim Akram.

Scholarships in different categories are given to the police wards out of contributory police welfare fund with the aim to inculcate a spirit of competition and prepare them for competitive exams of professional courses. (PTK). 

Abu Ismail is likely to Replace Abu Dujana as Lashkar’s Kashmir Commander…………

Pakistani National Mohd Abu Ismail, believed to be the Mastermind of July 10 Militant Attack on a bus carrying Amarnath Yatra, is likely to replace Abu Dujana as the Divisional Commander of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) in Kashmir. According to reports, 24 yr old Ismail infiltrated into India about two yrs ago and has been operating in South Kashmir. He carries a bounty of Rs 10 lakh on his head. 

Motorcyclist, Two Pillion Riders Injured in Anantnag Road Accident………..

A motorcyclist and two pillion riders were injured in a road accident in Anantnag district of south Kashmir, police said today.

An official said that a vehicle hit a scooty in Malsoo Seer area of the district, resulting in injuries to the driver and two pillion riders

The injured were shifted to District Hospital Anantnag for treatment.

Police has registered a case in this regard, said the official.

Sports Fest to be Organized in South Kashmir by Jammu and Kashmir Police……….

In its efforts to hone the skills of talented youth of State, Jammu and Kashmir Police under civic action programme is organizing a sports festival in Southern parts of Kashmir.

“The endeavour will channelize and boost the talent of budding players of the State both in boys and girls category. Various sports events under the age group of 19 will be played at District, Range, Zone and State levels,” a police statement said on Wednesday.

The interesting teams and individuals of all districts of South Kashmir are informed that they can collect and subsequently submit entry forms for 1st phase at their respective DySP DAR Offices by or before 12th of August, 2017.

The 1st phase of the event will commence on 23rd August, 2017 and will culminate on 30th August, 2017. The finalists of 1st phase will compete in 2nd phase of South Kashmir Range Sports Festival with the finalists of other districts of South Kashmir.

Various games including T20 Cricket, Football, Volleyball, Kabbadi, Tug of War, Karrate, 200 Metres race for boys, 100 Metres race for girls, Javelin throw, Discus throw (02 kilograms for boys, 01 kilograms for girls), Shot put 4.5 kilograms for both boys and girls, Kho-Kho, Wushu will be played in the Sports event.

Civilian killed in Forces Firing in Pulwama……………

A Civilian youth was killed on tuesday after govt forces opened fire on protesters near the encounter site at Hakripora village of Pulwama district. Sources said that many protesters sustained injuries in fresh firing by forces during clashes near and around the gunfight site. The deceased identified Firdous Ahmad of Begumbagh, Kakapora was brought dead to the hospital. He was hit with a bullet on his chest, Medical Superintendent said.

Abu Dujana Divisional Commander of Lashkar-e-Toiba killed in Hakripora Pulwama Encounter……….

Top Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) commander Abu Dujana was killed on Tuesday in a gunfight with the government forces in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir, police said.

A local militant identified as Arif Lelhari was also killed in the gunfight that took place in Hakripora village

State police chief S.P.Vaid said he would provide further details on the two militants only after the bodies are recovered from the encounter site.

Acting on specific information about the presence of Dujana and Lelhari, the forces surrounded the village around 4 am upon which they were fired at, according to security officials.

“The operation is ongoing,” the officials said, adding: “The process of recovering the bodies have started.”

Two houses in the village were blasted by the forces during the gunfight.

Dujana was wanted in over three dozen attacks on government forces and carried a reward of Rs 15 lakh.

He was the most wanted militant commander in the state

Pulwama Encounter Update: Youth hit by Bullet as Massive Clashes Erupted Near Encounter Site at Hakripora Pulwama……..

As a fierce gun-battle rattles in Hakdipora village of Pulwama district in southern part of Kashmir, civilian protesters are engaged in massive stone pelting clashes with forces around the encounter site.

Reports reaching here said that people from all the neighbouring villages are marching towards Hakdipora where a militant identified as Arif Lelhari has been killed in the on-going encounter.

Forces deployed in the area used live ammunition, pellets and teargas shells to disperse the protesters who pelted them with stones. At least 15 protesters have sustained injuries during clashes, sources said.

A civilian, identified as Jehanagir Ahmad of Kakapora, was hit by bullet in his abdomen. He was shifted to SMHS hospital for specialized treatment. His condition is stated to be critical.

Several others have suffered pellet injuries, reports said.
