When asked about reports suggesting that the National Investigation Agency (NIA) will soon launch a probe to find who was in touch with Burhan Wani, the PDP lawmaker said, “I have no hesitation to face NIA. I think I don’t have done anything wrong.”
Notably, soon after Burhan Wani was killed, the PDP MLA had sparked a major controversy with his statement. He had termed Burhan Wani “a martyr, not a terrorist.”
“People used to love Burhan because of his great and pious character. He was a kind and pious person, and being a resident of Tral too, I know how much people loved and respected him,” Shah had said. (Early Times).
