Gunshots were heard near a police station in Zainapora village of Shopian in south Kashmir early Friday, following which the area was cordoned off by the government forces.
While sources suggested that militants opened fire on the camp and fled from the area, top police officials said a sentry fired some shots after noticing suspicious movement
Reports quoting SSP Shopian said a sentry guarding the SOG camp in Zainapora fired some shots in air after noticing suspicious movement.
The camp is surrounded by vast and dense nursery of the horticulture department of Jammu and Kashmir and apple orchards.
Sources said that the militants might have fired at the camp from the nursery before taking a flight
