Clashes erupted during Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) in Shirmal village of Shopian district.

Several civilians and a police sub-Inspector were injured after clashes erupted during a cordon and search operation Shirmal village on Friday evening, sources said.

He said government forces launched cordon and search operation in Shirmal village after input about the presence of militants in the village.

They said that locals hit the streets and pelted stones on government forces soon after they started search operation.
Forces resorted to tear smoke shelling and pellets several civilians were injured.

A police Sub-inspector received head injuries during the clashes

Police Seeks public help to identify the culprits involved in Lynching of Police officer…….

Police in Jammu and Kashmir have sought the help of public to identify the culprits involvd in the mob lynching of a police officer in downtown Srinagar.
DySP Mohammad Ayoub Pandit was lynched to death by a mob outside the Jamia Masjid on the night of Shab-e-Qadr.
A special investigation team has been constituted by the police to arrested the accused.
A spokesman said that the members of public have been requested to visit the office of SP City North Srinagar or alternatively call on these numbers, 0194-2453214, 9419140715 and 9596770664, to share information about the culprits.
“The name and particulars of the said person/persons shall remain confidential,” he said.

After Friday Prayers Clashes erupted at Anantnag and Sopore……..

A group of youth assembled outside the Jamia Masjid in Sopore after Friday prayers and staged a protest against the US action on Hizb-ul-Mujahideen chief Syed Salahuddin.

Joint Resistance Leadership had called for protests after Friday prayers against the tagging of Salahuddin as a “global terrorist”.

Forces deployed in the area resorted to tear smoke shelling as soon as the protesters tried to march towards the main Bazar.

The protesters retaliated by hurling stones, triggering clashes.

Clashes are also going on between the protesters and Government forces in Reshi Bazar area of Anantnag town.

Forces fired  tear smoke Canisters to disperse protesters.

Flash floods,Hostile Weather force to closure of schools in Doda…….

Hostile weather and continuous rains coupled with flash floods since last 52 hours in most parts of Chenab valley forced the district administration to close all the educational institutions on Friday. “On the instructions of DC Doda, I have ordered the closure of all the educational institutions up to 12th standard including private schools for the day,” said Chief Education Officer Doda Mohd Sharief.

The decision was taken to ensure safety of students, as there is warning related to adverse weather with indication of heavy rainfall which may lead to landslides and shooting stones. Sporadic cloudbursts are also not ruled out,” he said.

Shutdown Call given by KTMF for tommorow on July 1 against GST Extension…….

Kashmir Traders and Manufacturers Federation (KTMF) said that if the Goods and Services Tax (GST) is extended to the state without amendments, it will shutdown business and trade units as a protest.

KTMF president Bashir Ahmad Rather has called for the shutdown on July 1 when the GST is rolled out across the country.

Hilal Ahmad, the general secretary of KTMF and President of the Kashmir United Automobiles Federation, Hilal Ahmad Mandoo, the president has called for the shutdown on July 01.

Elderly Man hit by an Army Vehicle at Khrew Pampore, Protests Erupted…….

Army on Thursday resorted to aerial firing in Khrew area of Pulwama district in south Kashmir to disperse protesters following an accident involving one of their vehicles.

Reports said that an elderly man was injured after being hit by an army vehicle belonging to 50 RR in Sharshaki Khrew on Thursday evening.

They said people took to streets and staged protests against the incident.

“Army resorted to aerial firing to disperse the protesters,” said a witness.

An official said that the man, whose identity wasn’t immediately known, suffered minor injuries in the accident

Police handed over a youth to his parents after he tried to cross over to Pakistan……..

A 14 year old boy Mohammad Qadeer Lone S/O Fayaz Ahmad Lone R/O Naidkhai,Sumbal ,a class 8th student of Eagle English Medium Public School Bomai Sopore, was intercepted by Police naka party in Uri Baramulla.

On enquiry it was found that he wanted to cross LOC to get arms training from Pakistan and become militant. He is counselled and then handed over to his parents.

Many parts of Srinagar city to face restrictions tommorow……..

Authorities on Thursday announced restrictions in areas of Srinagar falling under the jurisdiction of five police stations.  According to the District Magistrate (Deputy Commissioner) Srinagar, restrictions under Section 144 of CrPC will remain in force under the jurisdictions of Police Stations Nowhatta, M R Gunj, Rainawari, Khanyar and Safakadal in district Srinagar on June 30 (Friday) as a precautionary measure to avoid any untoward incident.
