Video journalist among 13 injured in Kulgam clashes


A video journalist was among thirteen persons injured after clashes erupted between students and government forces in Kulgam district of south Kashmir on Thursday.

Witnesses said that forces resorted to pellet firing and tear gas shelling to disperse students of Government Degree College Kulgam protesting against the student arrests.

Thirteen persons, including a video journalist, identified as Tanveer Ahmad Wani, were injured in the clashes.

Wani was hit by a pellet in his eye.

He has been hospitalized, said local sources.
